Mounts
Mounts are the structures that hold antennas on the tower. Define mounts before adding antennas.
info
Mounts have their own dedicated Mounts tab in the left sidebar.
Parameters
| Parameter | Description | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| Mount Height | Elevation on tower centerline | m |
| Mount Type | Pipe mount or Platform | — |
| Face | Which tower face (A, B, C for triangular towers; A, B, C, D for square towers) | — |
| Standoff | Distance from tower face to mount center | m |
Mount Types
Pipe Mount
Single horizontal pipe extending from the tower face. Holds 1–3 antennas.
- Most common mount type for panel antennas
- Contributes wind area (cylindrical EPA) and weight
- Defined by pipe diameter, length (standoff), and wall thickness
Platform
Structural frame at a given elevation. Can hold multiple mounts and equipment.
- Used for heavy equipment clusters
- Provides working surface for installation and maintenance
- Higher EPA contribution due to larger projected area
Mount Placement
- Mounts are placed on specific faces of the tower
- Multiple mounts can be placed at the same height on different faces
- Mount height must be within the tower's total height range
- Each antenna must be assigned to a mount before analysis
